About this event

Castle Lite Unlocks makes its Botswana debut on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Royal Aria Stadium in Tlokweng, with Nigerian afrobeats star Runtown confirmed to headline. The date lands on Independence Day, which turns the public holiday into the country’s biggest confirmed stadium night of the season.

Tickets are not on sale yet. No prices, tiers or purchase links have been released, and Botswana’s ticketing platforms haven’t listed the show so far.

  • Date: Wednesday, September 30, 2026 (Independence Day), gate times TBA
  • Venue: Royal Aria Stadium, Tlokweng, on Gaborone’s eastern edge
  • Headliner: Runtown, supporting acts still to be announced

  • Where to buy: TBA, watch Castle Lite Botswana’s socials and local ticketing platforms

Runtown Headlines the First Edition

Runtown is the only act locked in so far. The voice behind ‘Mad Over You’ and ‘For Life’ leads a bill the organisers promise will feature some of Africa’s biggest acts, so expect supporting names to drop over the next two weeks.

Unlocks shows run as single-night, big-production concerts rather than multi-stage festivals, the same branded playbook as Red Bull Unlocked in Cape Town. For a first Botswana edition at stadium scale, that points to a full concert production, with VIP and general access details to follow once ticketing opens. Age limits and curfew times haven’t been published yet.

Tickets and Getting There

There’s nothing to buy at the moment. No ticketing partner has been confirmed, and ticketlinc.co.bw and the other local platforms currently list only unrelated events.

That’s the main friction point. The announcement landed in June, and with the show two weeks out, fans are still waiting on both the ticket drop and the rest of the lineup. Chatter on local timelines has stayed quiet through September, and it usually flips fast once new names drop.

Plan the logistics early. The September 30 holiday traditionally pulls big numbers of people out of Gaborone toward family gatherings across the country, so roads into Tlokweng and parking around the stadium will be under pressure before gates open, and rides home will be scarce right after the encore. The stadium sits a short drive from central Gaborone, which keeps things manageable for anyone staying in town.

The Rest of the Botswana Calendar

Beyond this one, the pipeline for homegrown electronic and afro house talent looks thin. We swept Botswana’s promoters, aggregators and event pages this week and found no fresh announcements for local artists dated after September 14. The most recent locally-led electronic showcase, Beyond U’S Afrotech, closed its latest edition on Saturday, September 12 at Bojanala Waterfront in Gaborone, a step up from the smaller rooms like Wagga Gardens it grew out of.

That edition, curated by Tefo ‘Tefo Foxx’ Phologolo, split the night across a soulful Beyond Deep Stage and a main stage for heavier sets, pairing locals Lloyd BW, Robotic OFC, Kutlo Scope, Hapex Guru and Dizzy with DJ Kent and Darque from South Africa plus UK-based Lewis Piriz. The big rooms near home sit across the border this month, from the Scorpion Kings at FNB Stadium to Sai Hle in Pretoria, which makes the Castle Lite Unlocks build-up the one Botswana date worth following.

If you’re in or around Gaborone on September 30, this is the show to build the holiday around. Save the date, follow Castle Lite Botswana’s pages for the lineup and ticket announcement, and keep an eye on ticketlinc.co.bw once sales go live.
