The Sunday lineup and what to expect
Dlala Thukzin arrives in form. He’s coming off two releases this month alone, “Ungenzani” with MK Productions and Blaqseed and “Shintsh’Amagear” with Funky Qla and ZeeNxumalo, and he joined Scorpion Kings for their FNB Stadium show in Johannesburg earlier this year. Gauteng crowds know exactly the energy he brings.
The rest of the Sunday bill runs deep. DBN Gogo, DJ Shimza, DJ Kent, Dwson, Chronical Deep, DJ Capital, Lebza The Villain, PH, Mo Flava and Sxncello all play, and Oskido teams with Oscar MBO for The Best of the Oscars set. Between stage times, the Luxurious Marblettes and roaming circus acts keep the theatrical side of the festival moving through the grounds.
Food carries real weight here. The Marble Group, chef David Higgs’ outfit, curates the culinary programme with vendors serving all day and night. The dress code leans glamorous and standout outfits get scouted, so treat it as a reason to dress up rather than a standard festival fit.
Tickets, prices and getting there
Tickets are on Howler with the full tier breakdown on the official LMC site. Saturday’s Phase 1 Playground in the Field and the Phase 1 weekend pass have sold out, and Sunday stock is moving on the same pattern, so don’t wait for the final week.
- Playground in the Field: R990 (Phase 1), R1,250 (Phase 2), R1,550 (Phase 3), food and drinks excluded
- Weekend pass: R1,450 (Phase 1, sold out), R1,750 (Phase 2)
- Imperial Terrace: R4,500 per person, beverages bought on the day
- Grand Dining Room and Royal Lounge tables: from R4,000, sold in tables of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12
- Table bookings: via Howler, or [email protected] and 010 824 7639
Doors run 12:00 to 23:00 on both days and re-entry is allowed. Leave cooler boxes, camping chairs and outside food or drinks at home because none of it passes the gate. The venue sits on a farm property with vineyard and forest pockets in the Cradle of Humankind, roughly 30 to 45 minutes from Johannesburg, with designated parking on site. Private vehicles are the practical option since there’s no dedicated public transport.
The hype has been building for weeks. The Vibe ZA is giving away double tickets valued at R2,500 for Sunday’s Playground in the Field, entries close on 23 September and the winner lands on 24 September. Fans have been tagging their plus-ones under #LMCEvophoria, and both previous editions sold out, so the third is tracking the same way. After this, Gauteng’s calendar keeps rolling with Spring Fiesta at Wild Waters in Boksburg and Music in the Jungle in the Cradle, both in October.
If a full Sunday of amapiano, afrobeats and circus-scale production sounds like your kind of weekend closer, this is it. Buy your ticket on Howler before the next phase price kicks in and sort your lift to Muldersdrift early.
