About this event

Maskandi Fest Mthatha takes over Mthatha on Saturday, November 7, 2026, running a full ten hours from 10:00 until 20:00. The stop forms part of Doek On Fleek Lifestyle’s expanding national Maskandi Fest tour, and tickets are already live on FIXR, with general access currently at R300 and a seated option at R500.

The exact venue for November hasn’t been confirmed yet. The April Mother’s Day edition of the fest filled KwaNkolha Steakhouse in Ikhwezi Township, so that part of town remains the safest bet until the organiser drops the address.

  • Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026, 10:00 to 20:00
  • Venue: TBA, Mthatha, Eastern Cape
  • Lineup: Still to be announced
  • Tickets: R300 general access, R500 seated
  • Where to buy: FIXR

Lineup and what to expect

No performers have been locked in for the Mthatha date. The event page promises exciting performances by top maskandi artists, and the bill usually lands closer to the date. Fans in the comments on the organiser’s posts have already been naming who they want on it, with Khuzani’s name coming up again and again.

There’s good reason for the confidence. The April Mthatha edition carried Khuzani, Ntencane, Sminofu, Thandeka Radebe, Undertaker and Esethu Dywili, and the Durban leg of the same tour, now set for October 10 at Munies Hockey Club in Greyville, lists Khuzani, Umafikizolo, Menzi, Limit Nala, Thandeka Radebe and Inkosi Yamagcokama. Whatever shape the Mthatha bill takes, it draws from that same pool of headline acts.

On the day itself, expect an open-air, family-friendly setup running the full ten hours, with food and beverage stalls on site and a crowd that skews local. All genders are welcome and no age restriction has been published for this edition. We covered the Maskandi Fest Gqeberha stop in September and the format holds: gates open mid-morning, the guitars start early and the crowd builds through the afternoon.

Tickets, prices and where to buy

Tickets are on sale through FIXR, and the cheaper phases are already gone. Early bird at R150 and Phase 2 general access at R250 both sold out on the earlier listing, so Phase 3 at R300 is the current general option. Past stops also pushed tickets through Shoprite, Checkers and USave outlets, worth checking if you’d rather pay in store.

  • General Access Phase 3: R300
  • Seated Area: R500, table and chair near the stage, limited capacity
  • 0-45L Coolerbox Ticket: R150, cans only, refills charged extra
  • Priority Pass add-on: R70, queue skip only, doesn’t include entry
  • Buy online: FIXR

Venue and getting there

The November venue is still TBA. If the fest returns to KwaNkolha Steakhouse at 150/152 Gerald Spliken Drive in Ikhwezi Township, as it did in April, you’re looking at a township venue on Mthatha’s southern side, served by minibus taxi routes running through Ikhwezi. No transport or parking plan has been published for the November date yet.

One friction point worth planning around: parking came up as a sore spot for attendees at earlier tour stops, with late arrivals circling for space. Arrive early, share a lift or get dropped off. Last entry is at 20:00, so there’s no point rocking up after that. For a sense of how these days run elsewhere, our write-ups of the Ugu Maskandi Festival in Margate and Maskandi Fest Witbank cover the same touring format.

If you’re a maskandi fan in the Eastern Cape, this is the big one for November in Mthatha. Buy your ticket on FIXR while Phase 3 general access is still open, then watch Doek On Fleek Lifestyle’s channels for the venue and lineup drop.
