The Jozi debut lineup
Piano People started in 2021 with a single stage at Afro Nation and has grown into one of the world’s leading amapiano event brands, with sold-out shows in London and New York. Its Cape Town debut last summer sold out and produced a two-hour Scorpion Kings set plus a surprise Tyla appearance. Johannesburg now gets its own edition, ahead of a return to Cabo Beach in Cape Town on 30 December 2026.
Uncle Waffles leads the way. Born Lungelihle Zwane, the Eswatini-born DJ and producer has become one of the genre’s biggest global stories since her 2021 viral breakout, with projects like Asylum, SOLACE and Red Dragon behind her. Focalistic brings his trademark stage energy, while Dlala Thukzin and Oscar Mbo hold down the middle of the day.
The set many will circle is Kelvin Momo b2b Njelic, a back-to-back from two of the most respected selectors in private school piano. Support comes from 031 Choppa, Anchorbee, Nkulee501 b2b Sxova, Royal Musiq, Soul Nativez, Success SA and Uncool MC, with Angekebabuye_MC hosting. The full bill sits on the Piano People site.
Tickets, tables and day-of details
Tickets are on sale now through Howler. The R500 second-release presale and the R850 first VIP release are gone. What’s left is the third release at R600 for a single, or R550 per ticket on the two-ticket combo, which totals R1,100 before fees. A fourth release at R700 is marked as coming soon, so waiting costs money.
- Platform: Howler, cashless event
- Third release single: R600
- Third release combo: R550 per ticket, R1,100 for two, excluding fees
- Fourth release: R700, coming soon
- Standing VIP: R1,000 (second release), R1,250 tier coming soon

Old Park Station is the historic railway building in central Newtown, easy to reach by e-hailing with parking on site. Listings note a wheelchair-accessible entrance and restrooms. No under 18s, and the Howler listing shows a 14:00 opening ahead of the 16:00 official start. The event runs cashless on Howler’s RFID system, with food and bar areas inside the ticketed site.
This lands alongside other big Gauteng dates on our calendar, including Kunye Jozi XI at Huddle Park and The Source Collective at Sognage.
The response to the announcement has been loud. YFM pushed the lineup in late September as the ultimate amapiano celebration, and comments under the Anything Goes post ran from “AREYENG!!!” to “Cancelling everything for thissss”. There’s mild pushback too, with one X user arguing the bill reads like a regular Piano Hub Monday.
If amapiano is your thing and you want the genre’s biggest touring brand on home soil, keep 28 November open. The one move that matters now is booking through Howler before the fourth release pushes the price to R700.
