About this event

The 13th Annual Gagasi FM Beach Fest takes over Moses Mabhida People’s Park in Durban on Saturday, 5 December 2026, with gates opening at 10:00 and the music running through to midnight. It’s KZN’s biggest summer kick-off party, and this edition doubles as a 20th anniversary celebration for Gagasi FM, the station that went on air in March 2006 and now reaches more than 1.4 million listeners.

  • Date: Saturday, 5 December 2026, 10:00 to midnight
  • Venue: Moses Mabhida People’s Park, 44 Isaiah Ntshangase Road, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
  • Lineup so far: Sun-El Musician, DJ Zinhle, Sjava, Msaki and Dlala Thukzin, with more names to come
  • Tickets: R400 general access, R1,000 VIP, strictly 18+, no sales at the gate
  • Where to buy: Ticketpro online, Pick n Pay and Spar outlets

The lineup so far

Gagasi FM has been drip-feeding names since early September. Sun-El Musician was the first reveal, DJ Zinhle followed, then Sjava, whose sets have a way of slowing a festival crowd right down. Msaki is also locked in, and the newest addition is Dlala Thukzin, who carries his own Cabo Beach Cape Town date into a packed December schedule.

Expect the full spread the station is known for: Amapiano, Gqom, Maskandi, Gospel and Hip-Hop on Durban’s biggest live stage, with more artists to be announced before gates open. Last year’s 12th edition pulled over 12,000 people and featured DJ Maphorisa, Nasty C, DJ Tira, Oscar Mbo and MaWhoo, so the final lineup usually runs deep.

That post also carried a number worth acting on: half of the general access tickets were already gone when Dlala Thukzin was confirmed. Previous editions sold out about a month ahead, and the station is running mall activations at spots like Pinewalk and Umlazi Mega City where listeners can win tickets for their whole squad.

Tickets, cooler boxes and getting there

General access moves to Phase 2 pricing from tomorrow, 5 October, at R400, up from the R350 Phase 1 rate that ends today. VIP costs R1,000 and includes a light lunch, light dinner and unreserved cocktail seating on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no tickets at the door.

  • Buy online: Ticketpro
  • General access: R400 per person from 5 October to 4 December
  • VIP: R1,000 per person, light lunch and dinner plus cocktail seating included
  • In-store: Pick n Pay and Spar outlets
  • Door sales: none, event is 18+

Pack a camp chair and a cooler box if you’re going general access. Boxes up to 35L with decanted drinks enter free between 10:00 and 12:00, cost R200 from 12:00 to 16:00 and R350 from 16:00 to 19:00, and are barred after that. Umbrellas, gazebos, glass bottles, hookahs, folding tables and pass-outs are all banned.

On-site paid parking runs on the mustering fields, though ride-hailing is the easier call if you’re staying in the beachfront or city centre. The park sits on level ground with disabled facilities, and Durban in early December means heat and humidity, so plan for a full day in the sun. The city’s festive calendar is stacking up too, with Africa Is Not A Jungle at Kings Park Field among the big Durban dates on our radar.

If a 12,000-strong crowd, five genres and a 20th birthday party sound like your kind of Saturday, this is the one to build your December around. Buy your tickets on Ticketpro before the next price jump or sell-out, then start planning the cooler box run.
