It’s the biggest edition yet, with a second stage added for the first time after fans asked for more music.

Liquideep, B.O.P and Mdu lead the first wave
Phase one leans into the golden era. Liquideep brings the soulful house and R&B catalogue that made the act a household name. B.O.P, the Brothers of Peace duo of Bruce ‘Dope’ Sebitlo and Oskido, returns with the kwaito and house classics that shaped township dance floors. Mdu Masilela, the godfather of kwaito, completes the announcement with his generational anthems.
“Big Day Out has always been about celebrating the music that connects us all,” Oskido said in the lineup announcement. “These are artists whose songs became part of our lives.”
The two-stage setup allows a broader roster across kwaito, house, amapiano and hip hop, plus a curated food zone, activations and premium hospitality areas. More headliners and surprise performances are still to come, so it’s worth following Oskido on X for the phase two drop.
And the first wave has landed well with the festival’s cross-generational crowd. One practical note carried over from previous editions. The loudest requests afterwards were for more food stalls and smoother bar service, so plan around the busy windows.

Getting there and what to know
Huddle Park sits on 121 Club Street in Linksfield, a golf and recreation venue with open grounds that suit a full day of music. It has already hosted big sessions this year, including Kunye Jozi XI. Previous editions have wound down around 10pm, and the listing doesn’t state an age limit, so check the ticket page if you’re planning for anyone under 18.
On-site parking has been available at past editions, with premium parking in the top hospitality tiers, but rideshare drop-off is the safer call if you’re staying late. Gates open at midday.
One naming note before you buy. This date has circulated online as Best of Both Worlds, but that’s a mix-up. Shimza’s Best of Both Worlds series runs its own calendar, with recent editions at Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria. The Huddle Park event on 28 November is Big Day Out.
If you’re mapping out the rest of your festival summer, we’re also tracking Pianofest 2026 just up the road in Modderfontein.
Anyone who grew up on kwaito and house, or came up through the amapiano era, is exactly who this day is built for. The next step is simple. Lock in your ticket on Webtickets while the current price window holds, and keep Saturday 28 November free.
