Dlala Thukzin Joins Scorpion Kings Live Pre-Show at FNB Stadium Johannesburg

Dlala Thukzin leads the pre-show at Scorpion Kings Live when the “A Family Affair” edition hits FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, 19 September 2026. Gates open at 12:00, the pre-show runs from 14:00 to 18:00, and Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa close out the main show by 23:30.

Organisers are planning for 70,000 to 80,000 fans, which would make it the largest Amapiano stadium show South Africa has staged. The first ticket release sold out, 5,000 more went on sale in June, and seating tiers have kept clearing since.

Dlala Thukzin and the full lineup

The pre-show is where Dlala Thukzin comes in, and it’s a natural fit. The Durban producer built his name fusing gqom drums with Amapiano and Afro House, “iPlan” crossed over nationwide, and his Red Bull Symphonic set with a full orchestra proved the sound stretches well past a club system.

A-Reece, Sam Deep, Stixx, Mdu aka TRP, Dark Horse and DJs @ Work join him on the pre-show, alongside a Bacardi showcase with Big Baller CEO, Black Boy, Sia The Bee and Zela Force. There’s also a Maskandi block featuring Mnotho, Mjabulisi, Mjolisi, Shenge Wasehlalankosi and Jikjiki. If that hooks you, the Maskandi festival in Ladysmith is another one for the calendar.

From 18:00 it’s the Scorpion Kings’ stage. Nasty C, Focalistic, Blxckie, Lady Du, Busiswa, Mr JazziQ, Young Stunna, Kamo Mphela and Ringo Madlingozi are confirmed behind them, with 40-plus more artists across Amapiano, Afro-soul, hip-hop and house. Tickets are available through Webtickets, with the same tickets sold at Pick n Pay and Boxer counters. Standard Bank cardholders get 10% off on debit and 20% off on credit, on a limited allocation.

Don’t sit on the decision. General seated is showing sold out and field standing is flagged as selling out, and every release so far has moved fast. No under-14s are allowed and ID is checked at the gate.

Getting there on the day

Soccer City holds around 95,000 and Nasrec traffic is the one gripe that follows every big event here. The Park & Ride option through Webtickets pairs secure parking with a return shuttle straight to the gates, and Gautrain is the official transport partner. Book it with your ticket rather than gambling on the roads.

House rules are tight: no passouts, no outside food or drinks, and no entry after 21:30. DJ Maphorisa has admitted to nerves ahead of the show, while fans have largely cheered the expanded bill as a full-day celebration of SA music.
