The lineup and what to expect
The bill pairs the genre’s established names with artists on the rise. Limit Nala leads the traditionalists, Shenge is known for high-energy live sets built on storytelling, and Mthandeni SK arrives in Cape Town off a festival season where his mix of classic guitar work and modern appeal keeps pulling the big crowds.
Ringo Madlingozi stretches the day beyond pure Maskandi. The veteran has moved between folk roots and Afro-pop for decades, so his slot should draw fans who grew up on his records as much as on the genre itself. The listing also flags other genres across the programme, so expect the schedule to breathe between the guitar-and-voice sets.
The rest of the card is reason to arrive early. Cairo CPT, Mphathi Wohlelo, Inkosi YamaNdebele, Mbuzeni, Stabhilithi and Menzi fill out the running order, and with ten acts across a twelve-hour window, expect sets through the afternoon building toward the bigger names in the evening.
Tickets and how to buy
Sales run through Webtickets, the platform the station uses for its events. General tickets cost between R200 and R500, and the listing doesn’t explain what separates the tiers, so check the price options before you commit.

Nothing points to a sellout yet, but Maskandi festival tickets in this country move fast once word of mouth kicks in around a lineup, so buying early is the safe play.
Mandela Park Stadium and getting there
The venue sits on Tambo Road in Mandela Park, in the heart of Khayelitsha, and the event page carries a Google Maps link for directions. Zibonele FM is based in Ilitha Park a short drive away, so this is a home-ground show for the station. No transport or parking details have been published yet, so build in extra time for congestion around the stadium if you’re driving in from elsewhere in Cape Town.
Maskandi’s 2026 festival calendar has been relentless, and Khayelitsha now gets its own anchor date on it. When the Mandeni Maskandi Experience announced its June bill at Kwangcedomhlophe Stadium, the front-row question doing the rounds was who people would rush to the front for.
Mthandeni SK and Menzi from that debate now play Khayelitsha in October. The circuit keeps moving too, with the Ugu Maskandi Festival in Margate on 26 September and Maskandi Fest at the Royal Marang Hotel in Rustenburg landing the same month as this show.
If you live in Cape Town and have only ever heard Maskandi through a car radio, this is the day to hear it in a stadium with the community it belongs to. Pick your ticket on Webtickets and keep Saturday 10 October free from morning till night.
