With great excitement, DM.Recordings are pleased to introduce the world to Em Ex with the ‘Gratitude EP’. Not only making a label debut but this is also the first official release from Em Ex which many have been waiting for. Attention was drawn to this talented producer when top afro-house honcho, Culoe De Song, featured these particular two tracks work from Em Ex in his mixed compilation for Watergate in 2016.
Many will recall the first initial feeling when these two tracks were heard 3 years ago. Em Ex has made a statement with his sound and displays his creativity in keeping a soulful vibe embedded in the afro-house sound. The clarity in his production elements with the use of snappy kicks and sound-shifts on ‘Fire’, he sets to put a mark on dance floors with this. With its floor-filling bass and electronic synths, ‘Somadoda’ gives a nostalgic feel to the recognised sound that is very unique to African-electronic music. A track that is very gradual and adding several subtle layers that provide a warm and thumping beat pattern that is set to be a hit this summer.
