The Djoon Experience has just released a small EP of the famous international DJ; Dj Shimza. This EP tells the song titled “Destino” and a remix of the same ”
For those of you who are not familiar with the story of Dj Shimza, Mr. Ashley Raphala was born in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni and grew a love for music, especially since the earliest days of his childhood.
He debuted as a DJ for House Music in 2003, where he won the Red Square DJ competition in 2006, which lifted his status in the domestic music arena. He continued to win the DJ Spin Offs contest of the South African Music Conference, the National Bertrams VO “The Next Big Thing.” The highlight of his career came when he won the Gauteng Carnival DJ Competition in 2011. Winning this competition gave him much-needed exposure and boot equipment. He continued to establish and host the prestigious annual “Dj Shimza’s One Man Show” program and perform at the country’s major concerts, including Spring Festival Spring Explosion, Oh Ship and YFM, alongside big names such as Fresh, Black Coffee and Oskido .
Dj Shimza also played a mix at YFM every Friday at 6am, labeled YTKO, he is currently on Metro FM encouraging a show with Oskido. Shimza is also a VJ (Video DJ) on Channel O and has also participated in shows such as Ones and Twos on SABC 1.
